Suns Big Guns Fire at Gold Coast Multicultural Program

Friday, October 07, 2011

Gold Coast Suns players, Brandon Matera and Tom Nicholls helped put kids through their paces at AFL Auskick multicultural program

Fifty-five students from Upper Coomera State College recently had the pleasure of kicking the footy with Gold Coast Suns big guns Brandon Matera and Tom Nicholls.

Being the first time the kids had ever met AFL players, the kids absolutely loved the visit. The players had a pretty good time too.

The visit was part of the Gold Coast Region's successful multicultural program which is run through NAB AFL Auskick and introduces children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to Australian football.

Twenty-five high school students also joined in the fun to help out as mentors and show the younger students the ins and outs of playing footy.

The program was topped off when the Auskickers were lucky enough to play at Metricon Stadium during half time of the clash between Gold Coast Sunsa and Western Bulldogs.
