Most would not begrudge AFL players a bit of a sleep in after a big game of Friday night football.
Not so for the players of North Melbourne Football Club who surprised and delighted young footballers at Victoria's Flemington Auskick Centre after their big win over Carlton on Friday 13th at Etihad Stadium.
"It was our morning to have a couple of Kangaroo players turn up to help out with running the morning session," said coordinator, Russell Ditton.
"And to everyone's amazement 14 Kangaroo players arrived, all of them having played the game against Carlton on Friday night!"
Ditton said the kids were thrilled as the players signed autographs, handed out caps and tickets and ran the whole session for the kids.
"Their appearance was a big highlight for all of us and was appreciated by the kids, a big thank you to NMFC from all at Flemington Auskick."
