At a gala dinner at the MCG, this year's 22 nominees gathered to find out who amongst them would take home the coveted 2012 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year award.
Would it be Round 20's Grace Kenny who likes to tackle? Or Round 3's Sam Green from Tassie who's certain he'll one day train with Richmond? Or perhaps Round 7's little Luke Carley from Adelaide who could recite the name and number of every Crows player at the age of three?
The lucky winner was Round 5's Jedd Busslinger from Coolbinia JFC Auskick Centre in Western Australia. An avid Eagles fan, Jedd loves to practice, share the ball around and play with the team.
Channel 7's Hamish McLachlan hosted the night and Geelong star Joel Selwood presented the 22 with their jumpers. Nic Naitanui, Jonathon Patton and Daniel Talia were also on hand to help with presentations and provide a few coaching tips during the impromptu half-dinner-time scratch match.
All 22 nominees will get to play on the MCG before the Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday and then present the winning team with their premiership medals.
In addition, as the NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year, Jedd receives a $5000 NAB Junior Smart Saver account and mentoring from Joel Selwood in 2013.
Congratulations Jedd!

I thought you might like a few tips about Joel Selwood. His favourite meal is a roast dinner cooked by his Mum but he won't eat brussel sprouts. He is also scared of snakes as well as heights. Have a great year ahead and say hi to Joel for me.
Cheers,
Lachy Kimpton.
